Cois Fharriage 2011 News

This festival has been cancelled for 2011

It was first released that the music festival “Cois fharraige” will be held in Ardcavan in Co.Wexford. Music promotions company, MCD have applied to Wexford County Council for a licence to hold the event over three days from September 9th to September 11th. The Cois Fharraige surf and music Festival which has previously been held in Kilkee, Co. Clare. The festival attracted acts like The Coronas, Supergrass, The Saw Doctors, Repubic of Loose and the Blizzards in the past. The surf festival did not go ahead in Clare last year, and promoters MCD were seeking to relocate it to Wexford this year, unfortunately this plan fell through.

Previous Cois Fharraige Festivals in Clare have attracted 8000 people to Kilkee and generated up to €6m for the local economy. Its a real loss for Clare that Cois Fharriage will not be happening in Co.Clare this year. After the Cold Pro being cancelled it doesn’t look like Clare will have any surf and music festival this year. Its a real shame.

Just as well Lahinch has some of the best live music on this island to keep the county rockin’. Have a poke around our website to find out more information on surfing in Lahinch, surf Ireland, music and more.
